Campaign Finance Reports

If you choose to run for a local office, you are required to submit Campaign Finance Reports to the Nacogdoches County Elections Office according to the Texas Ethics Commission Filing Schedule. Forms and Instructions for Appointing a Campaign Treasurer (Form CTA) and Campaign Finance Reports (Form C/OH) can be found at www.ethics.state.us.

The Elections Office prepares an unofficial Candidate’s Packet prior to the time candidates may begin filing to run for office in the Democratic and Republican Primaries. Please contact the Elections Administrator for more information.

The only official role the Nacogdoches County Elections Office serves regarding Campaign Finance Reports is to print forms for candidates who need them, receive completed reports from candidates on filing deadlines, and to provide copies of submitted reports to those who request them.

It is the responsibility of the candidate to keep up with deadlines to turn in reports, and to learn how to fill out the forms properly by reading instructions provided by the Texas Ethics Commission. The Texas Ethics Commission is the final authority on whether Campaign Finance Reports are filled out correctly, not the Nacogdoches County Elections Office. We are happy to assist you as much as we can, but if you are unsure about something on a report it is advised that you contact the Texas Ethics Commission.
