Mission: To advise, instruct, and counsel all qualified veterans, their dependents, widows and surviving children on Federal and State benefits and to provide assistance in the preparation of those claims to which they may be entitled. Assistance shall include, but are not limited to: compensation and pension claims, surviving spouse or child dependency and indemnity compensation claims, death and education benefits, and medical assistance. The Veteran Service Officer shall act as liaison between veteran service organizations and Nacogdoches County Government on veteran issues.
